Gear

If you are like me, you like gearing up and becoming more powerful and min/maxing your stats. There are tons of things to improve. Getting all of the gear pieces you will need is a slow and expensive process. It isn’t going to happen overnight, but did you expect anything different from an MMO?

So the question is how expensive, up to 4 ding unbound liang per armor, jewelry, and weapon piece. Treasures can be farmed and purchased. The question is where to start.

Update 1: So after 3 months of play, I’ve gone back and started playing around with an ALT. I think by far the most efficient way to gear up is silver armor and weapons, class 03 through 06. They are very cheap on the trade center plus guildies who are leveling crafting or running factions give them away for free. School armor is easy to get but those points could be spent on upgrades of silver. It is quite easy to make a silver piece better than the school gear. With my main, I originally went school gear x 3 levels, gold chef weapon, then gold pieces mixed with silver. I have two gold pieces left to get.

If was doing it again, I would have gotten a jade chest piece first for the buff. In many ways, I also wish I had just started going jade from the beginning but wow that requires some patience and mega income. I’m now getting some great bonuses for having 6 gold pieces. So it would probably be best to go to silver, 1 jade weapon, 2 jade rings for the weapon buff, 1 jade chest, 6 gold pieces for the buff, then swap out jade. But that is pretty mega expensive as jade will be ~4 times the amount of gold. Gold costs at least 1 ding per piece to get it to class five. Jade will be 4 ding per piece.

School Vendor’s 30 Day Gear

There are three tiers of gear available at your school vendor.

Tier 1 = +3 Stats and requires School’s First Inner Skill to 5.

Tier 2 = +8 Stats and requires School Second Inner Skill to 7.

Tier 3 = +12 Stats and requires your School’s Third Inner Skill to 8.

Weapons

Starting Out

In the first couple of hours of play, the weapon’s vendor will sell you a better weapon.

Gold tokens, the ones earned from questing, at 200 will give you a high damage weapon you can buy but without any buffs starting out. Note damage wise this is not as good as the school’s second tier weapon which has a +damage mod on it. You are also unable to enchant it, but it is very easy to get 200 gold tokens. Each quest you perform will give you one gold coin; guild escorts give two. You are limited to 320 coins per week (yeah I was bored one day and ran into the limit). Click on the gold token icon under your health bar, next to the jade tokens. Save your silver to enchant a gold or jade weapon as they can be reset.

Update: I also very much like the silver weapon purchase. If you are in a good guild, you can get a class 5 chef silver weapon and enchant it three times for some major damage. It will give you the equivalent damage of leveling a skill from 1 to 4.

The next weapon should be your school weapon tier 2. It does better damage due the +damage modification than the gold token one.

The next weapon should be your school weapon tier 3.

The fourth weapons should be a silver chef weapon enchanted four times. You can actually get this before your weapon for you second tier. Depending on the luck of the enchants it will be much better than school weapons. Cost will probably be around 300L.

The fifth weapon should be purchased gold or jade. If you have money, a chef jade weapon would be best. Gold weapons will cost you 1.5-3D unbound silver. Jade weapons will cost you 4.5-7D. Only gold and jade weapons can have their enchants reset. This is why you will rarely see anything less than a gold or jade weapon on the trade center. Note your ring set will buff with weapon so they will need to match gold to gold and jade to jade.

Enchanting

Chef weapons are superior to Blacksmith because you have a chance to get 6 +damage enchants rather than 3 +damage / 3 +10% skill bonuses at Gold/Jade level.

Silver weapons get four enchants rather than six--making for an inexpensive but powerful option

Each weapon can get upto a +22 damage enchant up to six times.

Each skill can be increased by 10%. Max is +30% for one skill.

You can also get a break parry buff up to +30.
